Power of Relativity

Lately I keep coming face-to-face with the power of relativity. I’m not just talking about space and time and the speed of light. I mean everything. It’s what makes us never have enough money. It’s why my computer is never fast enough, nor its internet connection. It’s why the phrase “taking things for granted” has become a cliche. It’s why every person I know says their lives are crazy busy. It’s what makes Olive Garden now seem to me like a decent place for Italian food.

Anyway, do yourself and your kids a favor, and find them a copy of the book my parents read to me when I was a kid. It’s called Sad Mrs. Sam Sack. Although the story is specifically about making you feel like you have a large enough house, the principle has broad application.

This entry is part of the simple advice series.
